Shougang Ski Jumping Platform is the world’s first permanent platform for Big Air, and it is also the first competition venue in the history of the Winter Olympics that is directly combined with the reuse of industrial heritage. The main structure of the platform is a steel structure, with a total height of 60.5 meters and a length of about 164 meters. The main structure uses 4,100 tons of steel, of which a large number of high-strength steel and weathering steel, saving steel consumption by 9.75% and reducing carbon emissions by about 950 tons. The section curve of the platform structure meets the requirements of the Big Air competition, and at the same time reserves the possibility of section change for the aerial skill competition. In terms of shape, the three streamers simply express the concept of “flying” streamers. The top streamer marks the departure area, and the middle streamer is the main body wrapped with wind-resistant columns, competition lighting poles and safety nets to support structural columns, as well as wind-proof functions.

Beijing 2022 Olympic closing ceremony

At 8 pm on February 20, 2022, the closing ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games was held at the National Stadium.

The closing ceremony is mainly based on the ceremonial link stipulated by the International Olympic Committee, and the performance is integrated into the ceremony through ingenious design; the element of Beijing’s “Double Olympic City” will be specially designed and presented at the closing. When the fire of the Winter Olympics was finally extinguished, a momentary physical reproduction of the 2008 Olympic Games seemed to rewind time;

After the Olympic flag handover ceremony, the theme of the “Eight Minutes” performance by the hosts of the next Winter Olympics, Milan and Cortina D’Ampezzo in Italy, was “Twin Cities, Gathering Together”. Duality, Together”). The theme is consistent with the Beijing Winter Olympics theme slogan and the newly added Olympic motto.

On the basis of continuing the “simple” style of the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics once again presented Chinese-style romance and “double Olympics” feelings through the organic integration of ceremony and performance.
